The location of this hotel is excellent within the walls and just a 5-minute walk to the main streets. It is tucked away in a quiet alley, which makes it more peaceful and gives it a local feel. Despite being close to the tourist road, it still manages to maintain a calm and lovely atmosphere.

We had a fantastic stay at Xiangshengyuan Guest House. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. They even picked us up from the train station and provided us with a map of the area. The traditional Chinese courtyard was a beautiful sight to see, and the kang bed was comfortable. Despite the language barrier, the staff made every effort to communicate with us using a translation app. The location of the guest house was perfect, within walking distance to all the main attractions. The complimentary tea and local pastries were a delightful touch. we highly recommend Xiangshengyuan Guest House for a wonderful Chinese experience.

What a lovely hotel! This hotel is the perfect place to stay when exploring the ancient city - it is within the old-town with free pick-up from the train station, has rooms with a historic feel with old style but all the modern facilities on the kang bed in the room, and a beautiful terrace to relax and watch the sunrise or sunset. The staff is extremely helpful, giving recommendations and even lending out bikes! The delicious breakfast is a great way to start the day!

I recently had an amazing stay at a traditional guest house in a historic Chinese city. The hotel's location was ideal, situated just a short distance from the bustling tourist streets, but tucked away in a peaceful alley. The rooms were beautifully decorated in a traditional Pingyao style, and mine was in particular was superb, with a super comfy bed and lovely decor. The attention to detail was commendable, from the beautiful courtyard to the delicious breakfast provided. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel right at home. this hotel provided excellent value for money and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting this charming city.

I had the best stay in China at this hotel! The owners were incredibly welcoming and even provided a free pick-up service from the train station. The hotel itself is perfectly located within the beautiful old city of Pingyao, yet tucked away in a quiet alley. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable, with a large kang bed that added to the charm. The staff were incredibly helpful in planning tours and the breakfast to go was absolutely delicious. All of this at a price that was a fraction of what we paid for a similar hotel in Beijing.
